Build slideshows with effects, texts and buttons right in WordPress, and place them on any page with one click.

== Description ==

In the WordPress admin the plugin is shown as "DT-slideshow" in the DT-addons menu (Datoden's menu).

DT-slideshow is a slideshow builder that lives under Datoden → DT-slideshow. You see the slideshow live while you build it – exactly as visitors will.

* **Build it on one page:** add images, drag them into order, and give each image a heading, text and a button. Choose where the text sits, how it animates in and how much the image is darkened behind it. Click the most important part of each image and it stays in view on every screen.
* **Three transitions:** fade, slide and zoom in.
* **Navigation:** arrows and dots, and pause on hover.
* **Size:** six formats from square to full screen, and the width of the text, wide or full width.
* **Place it with one click:** choose a page and whether it goes above or below the content. The page itself does not need to be edited. Or use the Slideshow block, the shortcode `[datoden_slideshow id="12"]`, or `datoden_slideshow_get( 12 )` in a theme.
* **Accessible:** pause button, arrow keys, swipe on phones, pauses when out of view, and a calm fade without zoom for visitors who prefer reduced motion. Alt text comes from the media library.
* **Light:** no libraries. One small stylesheet and script, loaded only on pages with a slideshow.

**Moving from Responsit Bildspel:** its slideshows are shown right away and open in the builder. Click Move to DT-slideshow to save them as DT-slideshow slideshows. The IDs stay the same, so existing blocks and the `[bildspel]` shortcode keep working after Responsit Bildspel is deleted.

= Pro add-on =

In the separate paid add-on Datoden Slideshow Pro (from Datoden, not part of this plugin): eight more transitions, a different transition per image, slow zoom and pan in the images, more arrow and image picker styles (lines, numbers, thumbnails) and a time bar. This plugin does not contain these features; a slideshow that has such settings saved is shown here with the plugin's own choices, and the saved settings are kept.

= Free Datoden account (optional) =

Everything in DT-slideshow works without an account. A free Datoden account adds DT-website-guard – an email alert when the site goes down, settings profiles you can reuse on other websites, and Datoden's web apps – it never locks plugin features.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How do I put a slideshow on my start page? =

Open the slideshow under Datoden → DT-slideshow, choose the start page under "Show it on the website", choose Above the page content and save.

= How do I change the colours? =

Text colour is set per slideshow. The accent colour and corner rounding for all slideshows are at the bottom of Datoden → DT-slideshow. For more, use the CSS variables, for example `.dtss { --dtss-accent: #e63946; --dtss-radius: 0; }`.

= Can I use it without the block editor? =

Yes. Use the shortcode or the PHP function.

= Does it work with page builders? =

Yes, through the shortcode.

== External services ==

This plugin can connect to Datoden (https://datoden.com), a service run by Responsit AB, Sweden. The connection is optional – everything in the plugin works without it. Nothing is sent to Datoden until an administrator clicks "Start DT-website-guard" (or "Connect") in the WordPress admin and approves the connection on datoden.se or datoden.com. You can disconnect at any time with "Disconnect" (or by turning DT-website-guard off) on the DT-website-guard page; then nothing more is sent.

What is sent to Datoden, and when (only while the website is connected, except the connection itself):

* When you connect: the website address, the administrator's language (Swedish or English), the WordPress address that Datoden returns to and a random check value. After you approve on Datoden, the website sends the one-time code it got back, together with the website address and the language, and receives a website key that is stored in your database.
* Once a day (WordPress cron), and when an administrator opens a DT plugin page and the last contact is more than six hours old: the website key, the language, and the folder names, versions and active state of the installed Datoden plugins (for example datoden-cookie-consent). The answer can contain short messages from Datoden and updated wording for the DT plugins' texts, which are shown on the plugins' pages.
* When an administrator opens the DT-website-guard page or a DT plugin page (at most every five minutes), or clicks "Check again": the website key, to get the latest result of Datoden's monitoring (up or down, response time, and the expiry dates of the SSL certificate and the domain). "Check again" also asks Datoden to check the website once more.
* When the DT-website-guard page is shown and the DT-website-guard plugin is installed: the list of Datoden's plugins and their versions is fetched from datoden.se, at most every six hours. No data about the website is sent.
* When you click "My websites": the website key, the language and the email address of the logged-in WordPress user, so that Datoden can sign you in directly if it is the same address as your Datoden account.
* When you save, use or delete a settings profile: the website key, and when saving the settings of DT-cookie and DT-darkmode (no personal data; website-specific values such as the logo and the privacy page are left out). They are stored in or read from your Datoden account.
* When you disconnect: the website key, so that Datoden can remove it.
* While connected, Datoden visits the public website every five minutes (like any visitor) to check that it is up, reads its SSL certificate and looks up the domain's public registration data to find when it expires. The plugin shows the dates as Datoden reports them; the website does not contact any other service for this.

The slideshows themselves never contact any external service. When an administrator pastes a slideshow that was copied on another website, its images are downloaded from that website into this media library.

== Source code ==

Everything in this plugin is the original, human-readable source code. The PHP, JavaScript and CSS files are written by hand and are neither minified nor generated by a build tool, so there is no build step: the files in the plugin folder are the source and can be read and edited directly.

== Changelog ==

= 5.0.10 =
Core 3.0.8: the return from Datoden (Connect) is also checked with a WordPress nonce (WordPress.org review); the readme describes the source code.

= 5.0.9 =
Datoden-core 3.0.7: the plugins' settings are checked with a single database query when the page loads – missing or non-autoloaded settings used to cost one query each on every page. The check for old Responsit Bildspel slideshows is done once instead of on every page view.

= 5.0.8 =
SVG images in the slideshow keep their colours in dark mode (DT-darkmode).

= 5.0.7 =
SVG images with text are shown as code in the slideshow – the text can be selected, copied and read by screen readers. New 16:10 ratio (Wide screen).

= 5.0.6 =
* Review fixes in all plugins: prefixed JavaScript names, the WordPress 6.9 template enhancement output buffer (older WordPress: the buffer is closed explicitly), cache paths from content_url(). Dark Mode: block theme palettes are converted per use. SVG Support: steps back while the SVG Support plugin is active. Code Snippets: the WPCode switch button is shown for all imported snippets.

= 5.0.5 =
* Datoden-core 3.0.5: the plugin icon shows its symbol at full size, cut by the corner with the Datoden logo.

= 5.0.4 =
* Datoden-core 3.0.4: plugin icons without the white background – the cut corner is transparent and the Datoden logo uses the icon's light colour.

= 5.0.3 =
* Datoden-core 3.0.3: new plugin icon design – a cut white corner with the Datoden logo.

= 5.0.2 =
* Datoden-core 3.0.2: the plugin's own icon (the same as on WordPress.org) is shown in the DT-addons overview and in the header of the plugin's page.

= 5.0.1 =
* Datoden-core 3.0.1: the header on the plugin's page shows the plugin's name as on WordPress.org.

= 5.0.0 =
* New name on WordPress.org: Datoden Slideshow (shown as DT-slideshow in the DT-addons menu). The free plugin contains no locked Pro features – they are only in the separate Datoden Slideshow Pro. Websites with the earlier version are moved to the new folder automatically; settings are kept.

= 4.0.1 =
* Plugin Check: redirects to Datoden use wp_safe_redirect, and the descriptions on the Datoden plugins overview are translated with WordPress' own function. Datoden-core 2.0.1.

= 4.0.0 =
* New prefix datoden_ instead of dt_ (WordPress.org). Settings and data are moved automatically on the first load; the old [dt_…] shortcodes, hooks and REST routes keep working. Works together with older DT plugins until they are updated. Datoden-core 2.0.0.

= 3.33.11 =
* Ready for WordPress.org: Plugin Check rules (sanitising, nonces, WordPress file functions), no inline scripts in admin pages, DT-core 1.17.22.

= 3.33.10 =
* DT-core 1.17.21: shared core cleaned up (unused code removed) – the same core in every plugin, no change in behaviour.

= 3.33.9 =
* Cleanup: unused code removed – no change in behaviour.

= 3.33.8 =
* DT-core 1.17.12: the menu heading is called DT-addons and the overview section Datoden plugins.

= 3.33.7 =
* DT-core 1.17.11: the Pro features require a licence – the website must be connected to Datoden and have a purchased licence or be activated by Datoden. Without a licence the base plugin runs without Pro, with a notice saying why (three days to connect after installing or updating).

= 3.33.6 =
* DT-core 1.17.10: DT-website-guard includes itself in the list sent to Datoden – Control the website, Health and Updates show again in My websites, and DT-website-guard gets its updates from Datoden.

= 3.33.5 =
* DT-core 1.17.9: the menu heading is called Datoden Addons (DT-datoden-addons wrapped onto two lines).

= 3.33.4 =
* DT-core 1.17.8: the menu heading is called DT-datoden-addons (without the Pro badge); the first row in the menu and the overview are still called DT-website-guard.

= 3.33.3 =
* DT-core 1.17.7: the DT-website-guard overview shows every DT plugin – the ones that are not installed with Install (downloaded from Datoden) and Read more; deactivated ones with Activate.

= 3.33.2 =
* DT-addons is now called DT-website-guard (the menu, the overview, the plugins list and the texts in every DT plugin). The folder and the settings stay the same (dt-addons), so updates and everything saved work as before. DT-core 1.17.6.

= 3.33.1 =
* DT-core 1.17.5: the card about what Pro adds is shown at the top of the sidebar (only without Pro) – in every DT plugin.

= 3.33.0 =
* Free and Pro in one: Pro is now an add-on to DT-slideshow instead of a separate version that replaces it. DT-slideshow (the base plugin, free on WordPress.org) stays installed and active, keeps the settings and is updated from there; DT-slideshow Pro adds the Pro features and requires DT-slideshow. Upgrade, go back or remove Pro – settings and data stay. If DT-slideshow is newer than Pro, DT-slideshow runs without the Pro features until Pro has been updated. DT-core 1.17.0.

= 3.32.1 =
* Fix: critical error when DT-slideshow Pro was installed while an older free version was active. Pro now turns the free version off immediately and starts from the next request.

= 3.32.0 =
* Free and Pro: built as a free version (WordPress.org) and DT-slideshow Pro (Datoden). Pro takes over the free version and keeps the settings, is updated from Datoden while connected and shows Pro in the header. Nothing stops working when switching either way. DT-core 1.16.0.

= 3.31.30 =
* DT-core 1.15.1: the header (logo, Datoden badge, buttons, language switch, Saved) and the Made by Datoden line are rendered by the core – the plugin only provides its name, version, description and any tabs. The collapse/expand arrow always sits at the far right of the card.

= 3.31.29 =
* DT-core 1.14.0: the header, the DT-addons menu and everything else shared (dt-hub.php, dt-autosave.js, dt-admin.css and Datoden images) live in the dt-core/ folder. Of all active DT plugins only the newest copy is used – updating one plugin with a newer core gives every plugin the new header, and all pages load the same files (cached once by the browser).

= 3.31.28 =
* Shared header script: in DT-addons, Messages go below Install or update in the sidebar.

= 3.31.27 =
* The tab row sits at the top of the main column – above the main cards only, so the sidebar starts at the top beside it.

= 3.31.26 =
* Tabs (e.g. Languages | Menus in DT-language) are a full-width row right below the header, above the cards – no longer small inside the header, so they are not missed.

= 3.31.25 =
* Every card – also in the main column and the cards above it – collapses and expands with a click on its heading. The arrow sits right after the heading, so switches and buttons on the right stay visible when the card is collapsed.

= 3.31.24 =
* Sidebar cards collapse and expand with a click on their heading – remembered per card. Collapsed Messages shows the count. In DT-addons the Datoden account is at the top of the sidebar (DT-hub 1.13.2).

= 3.31.23 =
* Closed messages stay closed after reloading the page.

= 3.31.22 =
* Messages are shown in the sidebar (Messages card) instead of the header.

= 3.31.21 =
* The first item under DT-addons in the menu is called DT-addons instead of Overview.

= 3.31.20 =
* The Datoden menu is now called DT-addons; the overview has a larger DT-website-guard panel.

= 3.31.19 =
* Removed the Paste slideshow button (paste a copied slideshow with Ctrl+V on the overview). Undo/Redo tooltips say what will be undone or redone. Undo, Redo and Saved are always in the same place, greyed out when there is nothing to do.

= 3.31.18 =
* Header: subtle dividers between the groups of controls.

= 3.31.17 =
* Undo now works everywhere, also right after a change, for added/removed rows, the form builder and the code editor.

= 3.31.16 =
* Editor: undo/redo in the header like all DT plugins; the ⋯ menu is back in the editor bar. Undo / Redo in the header of every DT plugin. The save status keeps its width; other messages are shown on top so nothing moves.

= 3.31.15 =
* Editor: undo/redo, the ⋯ menu and the save status moved into the Datoden header.

= 3.31.14 =
* Header rearranged: version next to the plugin name, buttons top right, Saved after the language switch, the Datoden logo links to Datoden's apps.

= 3.31.13 =
* The Datoden header stays at the top while editing a slideshow; the editor sits below it.

= 3.31.12 =
* Dark mode: the header shows the light Datoden logo (datoden-logo-darkmode.svg).

= 3.31.11 =
* The sidebar toggle moved into the header; when hidden the content uses the full width. The collapsed header shows the Datoden logo.

= 3.31.10 =
* The sidebar now lines up with the slideshows.

= 3.31.9 =
* The sidebar toggle sits in the top right corner with a sidebar icon.

= 3.31.8 =
* Header buttons: keep the header at the top while scrolling (pin) and collapse it so only Saved and the language switch show. The sidebar can be collapsed to a small button. The language switch is greyed out on pages without texts to translate.

= 3.31.7 =
* Shared stylesheet updated, same as the other DT plugins.

= 3.31.6 =
* The plugin header now stays at the top when you scroll. Saved status and the SV | EN language switch moved from the admin bar into the header, below the badges.

= 3.31.5 =
* Unified names: the plugin is now called DT-slideshow - datoden (lowercase after DT, like all DT plugins). The folder, settings and shortcodes are unchanged.

= 3.31.4 =
* Saved in the admin bar no longer gets a different background on hover.

= 3.31.3 =
* Saved / Saving… is shown in the admin bar at the top, to the left of the SV | EN language switch (also on mobile) – no longer in the plugin's page header.

= 3.31.2 =
* Messages in the page header: WordPress and plugin notices, messages from Datoden and the Datoden account row (DT-website-guard, Datoden apps) now sit in the page header, to the left of Saved, instead of pushing the page down. Long messages show two lines – click for the full text.

= 3.31.1 =
* The settings for all slideshows are autosaved (the Save button is removed) – like the slideshows themselves.

= 3.31.0 =
* The fields with per-language texts are tagged, so that Text fields in the admin bar (DT-language 1.3.0) can highlight them.

= 3.30.1 =
* The language label (EN · English) at the top of the builder is removed – the language switch in the admin bar already shows it.

= 3.30.0 =
* The language switch is always in the same place: SV | EN in the admin bar at the top (DT-language 1.2.0), the same choice as in Customize and DT-contact. The builder shows which language you are writing in.

= 3.29.0 =
* Several languages (with DT-language 1.1.0): a language switch at the top of the builder lets you write the heading, text, button and the slideshow name in each language, with the original as a hint. Images and settings are shared, and the preview shows the chosen language.

= 3.28.1 =
* Thumbnails may use the full width of the slideshow (previously at most 70 %); arrows still appear when there are more than fit.

= 3.28.0 =
* Phones start from scratch: all mobile-specific styling is removed (rules for screens up to 640 px, text below the image, smaller texts and buttons, hidden arrows) together with the settings Format on phones, Text on phones and Hide texts on phones. Phones now show the same slideshow as computers, only smaller.

= 3.27.22 =
* Builder in dark mode: drop-downs and text fields stand out from the cards, with light text and arrow.

= 3.27.21 =
* New filters dt_slideshow_data and dt_slideshow_label, used by DT-language to show slide texts in the visitor's language.

= 3.27.20 =
* Removed the browser warning about repeated canvas readbacks (getImageData) in the dark-mode glow.

= 3.27.19 =
* Focus point: Reset becomes available as soon as the point is moved.

= 3.27.18 =
* The builder in dark mode: the dark card colours now really apply.

= 3.27.17 =
* The builder in dark mode (DT-darkmode in the admin): selected buttons and tiles are dark too.

= 3.27.16 =
* Soft edge: all slideshows move the content up, including those already moved up.

= 3.27.15 =
* Soft edge: smaller gap to the content below – it always moves at least 60 % into the edge.

= 3.27.14 =
* Soft edge with a fixed background image at the sides: the blurred edge uses the background image too.

= 3.27.13 =
* Thumbnail arrows no longer show when all thumbnails fit.

= 3.27.12 =
* Thumbnails with a glass plate: even frame on all sides, and a light plate stays light in dark mode.

= 3.27.11 =
* Thumbnails below the image: the first and last thumbnail's frame is no longer clipped.

= 3.27.10 =
* The small image's width setting now works inside a plate. Slides without a main image no longer show an empty framed box.

= 3.27.9 =
* Light pages: slideshows in a column blend into the page too; the image shadow no longer gets straight edges at the sides.

= 3.27.8 =
* Dark pages: slideshows that are not full width blend into the page – the blurred background spreads out to the sides and fades softly; the soft edge ends with the section it is in.

= 3.27.7 =
* Dark pages: fade mask drawn at device resolution with dithering strength adapted to the actual contrast – breaks up the remaining 8-bit steps.

= 3.27.6 =
* Dark pages: the blurred background is rendered with a true, dithered Gaussian blur instead of the browser's downscaled CSS blur – removes the last faint horizontal bands.

= 3.27.5 =
* Dark pages: zero-mean dithering built into the fade mask – no bands, no grain, no edge where the fade ends.

= 3.27.4 =
* Finer dithering on dark pages – no visible grain.

= 3.27.3 =
* Soft edges on dark pages: smooth, dithered fade without horizontal bands (also on OLED screens).

= 3.27.2 =
* No banding in soft edges on dark pages.

= 3.27.1 =
* Smoother soft edges on dark pages, without banding.

= 3.27.0 =
* Soft edges look better on dark pages (dark mode): a coloured glow instead of a grey haze.

= 3.26.2 =
* Fix: soft edges no longer move positioned elements after the slideshow (such as a theme's next-section arrow).

= 3.26.1 =
* One button to add an image to the slideshow.

= 3.26.0 =
* Choose the image picker's distance from the edge.

= 3.25.3 =
* Fix: the arrows hide as soon as the pointer leaves the image.

= 3.25.2 =
* Hover is detected on the image only, not on the blurred background.

= 3.25.1 =
* Fix: the soft edge no longer covers the footer.

= 3.25.0 =
* Move the content up into the soft edge by a number of pixels.

= 3.24.0 =
* Choose how much space a soft edge takes on the page – the rest continues behind the content.

= 3.23.4 =
* Even faster final change after quick browsing.

= 3.23.3 =
* Faster final change after quick browsing.

= 3.23.2 =
* Fine-tuned fast browsing: quicker to respond and settle.

= 3.23.1 =
* Browsing quickly skips the images on the way and goes straight to the one you stop on.

= 3.23.0 =
* Browsing during a transition starts the next one immediately from where everything is – no waiting and no jumps.

= 3.22.9 =
* Browsing during a transition speeds it up smoothly instead of waiting for it.

= 3.22.8 =
* Fix: no flash when browsing quickly – each transition completes smoothly.

= 3.22.7 =
* Fix: the blurred background no longer flashes when you browse quickly.

= 3.22.6 =
* Fix: texts and plates no longer flash when you change image before they have come in.

= 3.22.5 =
* Fix: no shadow ahead of the image in parallax with a largest image width.

= 3.22.4 =
* Fix: the soft-edge fade is back, and the blurred background crossfades evenly also when the sides are semi-transparent.

= 3.22.3 =
* The blurred background fades between images.

= 3.22.2 =
* With a largest image width, the previous/next arrows sit inside the image.

= 3.22.1 =
* The image shadow fades in and out with the images.

= 3.22.0 =
* Choose the size and opacity of the image shadow.

= 3.21.7 =
* Only the play icon pulses while paused.
* Fix: no horizontal scrolling while images slide with soft edges.

= 3.21.6 =
* Soft edges: the image's own shadow follows the image and fades softly, without a sharp edge.

= 3.21.5 =
* Fix: no horizontal scrolling with full-width slideshows and thumbnails.

= 3.21.4 =
* Fix: the shadow starts at the image, also when the thumbnails are under it.

= 3.21.3 =
* The image's shadow lies under the image in the soft edge and fades out softly.

= 3.21.2 =
* The image's side shadow continues into the soft edges.

= 3.21.1 =
* Soft edges can be up to 600 px high.

= 3.21.0 =
* Choose the length of the fade on soft edges.
* The pause/play button shows on hover, and pulses slowly while paused.

= 3.20.0 =
* Opacity for the blurred sides and soft edges.

= 3.19.2 =
* An inactive thumbnail arrow fades out when the pointer leaves it.

= 3.19.1 =
* Thumbnail arrows show on hover and are dimmed (not removed) at the start and end.

= 3.19.0 =
* Six looks for the arrows in the thumbnail strip.

= 3.18.0 =
* Choose where the pause/play button is placed: with the image picker or anywhere in the image.

= 3.17.1 =
* Soft edges end smoothly.

= 3.17.0 =
* Soft edges fade into the page's own colour with a smooth curve, increasing blur and a fine grain against banding.

= 3.16.2 =
* Smoother fade on soft edges.

= 3.16.1 =
* Soft edges: the blurred background continues beyond the slideshow before it fades out.

= 3.16.0 =
* Soft upper and/or lower edge: the slideshow fades into a blurred copy of the image and on into the page.

= 3.15.1 =
* Fix: sharp images also work for large images that WordPress has scaled down.

= 3.15.0 =
* An image in the slideshow can be without a main image – just text and/or a small image on the slideshow's background.

= 3.14.2 =
* A slideshow without images shows nothing on the website.

= 3.14.1 =
* Delete a slideshow straight from the list.

= 3.14.0 =
* Duplicate a slideshow straight from the list.

= 3.13.0 =
* Choose another image as an image's thumbnail in the image picker.

= 3.12.2 =
* Thumbnails with the small image use the same plate as the small image.

= 3.12.1 =
* The thumbnail choice is a checkbox: use the small image if there is one.

= 3.12.0 =
* Thumbnails can show the whole image or the small image above the text (for example a logo).

= 3.11.0 =
* Thumbnails take at most 70 % of the width, without a scrollbar, with arrows when there are more.
* The image picker can be shown in the image or under it, aligned left, centre or right in both cases.
* An opened slideshow starts at the top of the editor.

= 3.10.0 =
* Thumbnails follow the placement of the image picker – in the image or under it.
* The slideshow's name can have its own size, or the same as the other headings on the page, and can be right-aligned.

= 3.9.0 =
* The slideshow has its own focus point; every image, also the first, can have its own and be reset.

= 3.8.2 =
* The reset button for the focus point is always shown, greyed out until there is something to reset.

= 3.8.1 =
* Reset an image's focus point to the slideshow's focus point.

= 3.8.0 =
* The focus point button above the preview sets the focus point for the whole slideshow.

= 3.7.1 =
* The focus point of the first image is used by all images that do not have their own.

= 3.7.0 =
* A focus point for all images, used by every image that does not have its own.

= 3.6.0 =
* New per-slideshow choice: sharp images, bypassing image optimisation services (Optimole, Jetpack, Smush, EWWW Easy IO, ShortPixel) and lazy loading by other plugins.

= 3.5.5 =
* Fix: the slideshow images are no longer scaled down by image optimisation plugins such as Optimole.

= 3.5.4 =
* Fix: the background image is no longer scaled down by image optimisation plugins such as Optimole.

= 3.5.3 =
* Fix: images with shadows turned off no longer get a shadow when they slide in.

= 3.5.2 =
* Parallax: the image that leaves also fades out.

= 3.5.1 =
* Smoother parallax transition.

= 3.5.0 =
* The slideshow's name stays within the largest image width.
* Turn off the shadows on each image.

= 3.4.3 =
* The largest image width is used in full again when a highest height is set.

= 3.4.2 =
* Fix: the background image stays within the largest image width; the sides show a blurred, darkened copy of it.

= 3.4.1 =
* Fix: with the largest image width and a highest height, the image keeps its proportions instead of filling almost the whole width.

= 3.4.0 =
* The largest image width is always available, and the sides beside the image can be more or less blurred and darkened.

= 3.3.0 =
* The background image for the whole slideshow has the same size choices as the images, and a placement.

= 3.2.0 =
* Choose the size of each image: fill the area, show the whole image, original size or your own size.

= 3.1.0 =
* One background image for the whole slideshow, which stays still behind all images (optionally blurred and darkened).

= 3.0.2 =
* The plugin's name is not translated anywhere – only the text around it.

= 3.0.1 =
* The plugin's name in the list of plugins is not translated, so it is not confused with the old DT-Bildspel.

= 3.0.0 =
* New name: DT-Bildspel is now DT-slideshow. Slideshows, settings and styles are moved automatically the first time, and old shortcodes and blocks keep working.

= 2.14.0 =
* Choose where the image picker is shown: bottom left, bottom centre, bottom right or under the image.

= 2.13.0 =
* Headings no longer wrap: a heading that is too wide is made smaller so it fits on one line.

= 2.12.0 =
* The page cache is cleared automatically when a slideshow is saved, when you leave the editor and after an update (WP Fastest Cache, WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, LiteSpeed Cache, SiteGround Optimizer, Autoptimize).

= 2.11.0 =
* New setting: highest height of the slideshow (no limit, 360–800 px or the height of the screen) on computers and tablets.

= 2.10.0 =
* The preview uses the theme's fonts, so headings and texts look like on the website (filter dt_slideshow_preview_fonts, theme.json for block themes).

= 2.9.0 =
* A three-step guide for new slideshows: choose images, choose a style, choose where it is shown.

= 2.8.0 =
* Ready-made styles: Hero with dark glass, Clean, Product, Quote, Edge to edge and Light glass – one click gives an image a finished look.
* Use the same style on all images.
* Save the look of an image as your own style and use it in every slideshow.

= 2.7.0 =
* Step through and play the slideshow in the preview; the image you step to is selected for editing.

= 2.6.5 =
* On phones the text area under the image shows a blurred, darker copy of the image, and the chosen plate is used behind the text.

= 2.6.4 =
* On phones the small image sits to the left of the text, or above it when there is not enough room.

= 2.6.3 =
* Fix: on phones the image picker disappeared on images that are light at the bottom.
* On phones the small image is at most 48 px high, so the text area keeps a similar height.

= 2.6.2 =
* Fix: the preview became tiny after switching from mobile back to computer.

= 2.6.1 =
* On phones the text area under the image has the same height on every image, set by the image with the most text.

= 2.6.0 =
* Better on phones: choose whether the text is shown under the image (default) or on the image.
* Under the image: the whole text, the small image and the button fit below the picture.
* On the image: a smaller plate, text and button.
* No arrows on phones (swipe instead), and the image picker fits many images.

= 2.5.2 =
* The preview uses the full width of its box.

= 2.5.1 =
* The preview now matches the website: the slideshow is drawn at the visitor's width and scaled down, so texts and plates keep their real size compared to the image.

= 2.5.0 =
* Choices that were shown as tiles are now drop-down lists, which saves space.

= 2.4.3 =
* Shorter description for Small image.

= 2.4.2 =
* The box More options is now called Small image and has its own icon. The image's accent colour is under Button and link.

= 2.4.1 =
* Copy and paste settings and "use this plate on all images" are icon buttons next to the selected image.

= 2.4.0 =
* Every settings box in the editor can be shown or hidden, and dragged to a new place within its group.
* The order, the hidden boxes and whether the preview is open are saved for each user and kept next time.

= 2.3.4 =
* Each settings box stands on its own on the page background.

= 2.3.3 =
* The editor uses the same boxes, borders and backgrounds as the DT overview, with an icon for each settings box.

= 2.3.2 =
* A denser editor: more cards side by side, smaller text, spacing and fields.

= 2.3.1 =
* Smaller image tiles in the editor.

= 2.3.0 =
* The editor is one page from top to bottom: a preview that opens when you click it, all images as tiles, and the settings below them.
* Choose between the selected image and the whole slideshow; the settings are grouped in clearly titled cards.
* Fields, lists, tiles and buttons in Datoden's style.

= 2.2.0 =
* The editor is split in two halves: the preview with the images in a row below it on the left, the settings on the right.
* The settings follow what you click: the text shows the Text tab, the image shows the Image tab.
* Settings for the whole slideshow open from the Slideshow button at the top.
* Lighter text toolbar in the preview.

= 2.1.1 =
* The heading and text fields in the settings panel are plain text fields without the image behind them.

= 2.1.0 =
* Edit right in the preview: click a heading or text and type, with a floating toolbar for bold, italic, underline, link, colour and size.
* Drag the text box to one of nine positions; it snaps into place.
* Set the focus point by clicking in the preview. The whole image is shown with a frame for what visitors see on computers and phones.
* The slideshow holds still while you edit it.
* Fix: the arrow keys changed image while typing in the slideshow.
* Fix: empty formatting was left behind after removing bold, italic or underline.

= 2.0.0 =
* A new full-screen editor: images on the left, a large preview in the middle and the settings in tabs on the right.
* Everything is saved automatically, with undo and redo.

= 1.10.1 =
* Open the button link or the image link in a new window.

= 1.10.0 =
* Show the images in random order, or start on a random image.

= 1.9.1 =
* Fixed: dragging slideshows and images to change their order did not work.

= 1.9.0 =
* Drag and drop the slideshows in the list to change their order.

= 1.8.2 =
* The builder no longer jumps when you change settings.

= 1.8.1 =
* Copy, Paste, Duplicate and Delete are now together at the top of the builder.

= 1.8.0 =
* Copy a whole slideshow and paste it – on the same website or another one. Images from another website are fetched to the media library.

= 1.7.4 =
* The zoom now starts quickly and then slows down more and more until it almost stops. Smoother rendering.

= 1.7.3 =
* Smoother zoom: the movement starts quickly, slows down while the image is shown and speeds up again as it leaves.

= 1.7.2 =
* Choose black or white text on the accent colour.
* The lines, dots and numbers turn dark on light images automatically, or choose light, dark or the accent colour.

= 1.7.1 =
* Type or paste a HEX colour next to every colour picker.

= 1.7.0 =
* Accent colour per slideshow and per image, each overriding the level above. Button text adapts to the accent colour.

= 1.6.7 =
* The text colour automatically contrasts with the plate (dark text on light glass, white text on dark glass). Dark glass is darker.

= 1.6.6 =
* Frosted glass behind the image above the text no longer turns grey when the text also has a plate.

= 1.6.5 =
* Light and dark frosted glass. Choosing glass now also sets the right tint, so it no longer turns grey.

= 1.6.4 =
* Frosted glass is brighter and more colourful instead of grey.

= 1.6.3 =
* Frosted glass now starts at 20 % coverage, so it looks like glass instead of a white plate.

= 1.6.2 =
* A coloured, frosted or round plate behind the image above the text.

= 1.6.1 =
* Copy the settings of one image and paste them on another image or on all images – the images and texts stay.

= 1.6.0 =
* Choose how the plate comes in (ten ways), a delay before the text appears, the animation time and the time between heading, text and button.

= 1.5.4 =
* Fixed: theme styles for figures and images inside page content could push the images down inside the slideshow.

= 1.5.3 =
* Fixed: the space above and below made no difference when the slideshow is first or last on a page.

= 1.5.2 =
* Fixed: the spacing "None" was not saved.

= 1.5.1 =
* Choose the space above and below each slideshow.

= 1.5.0 =
* Full width with a largest image width: the image stays in the middle and the sides are filled with a blurred, darkened copy of the image, dark or the accent colour.

= 1.4.1 =
* Fixed: the text on the images flickered during the change to the next image.

= 1.4.0 =
* Choose whether the name of the slideshow is shown as a heading above it.
* Choose whether headings, texts and buttons are shown on the images.

= 1.3.1 =
* The text colour is now always visible as a row of colours under each text field.

= 1.3.0 =
* Text toolbar for headings and texts: bold, italic, underline, link, colour for selected words or the whole field, four sizes and remove formatting.
* An image above the text, for example a logo, with adjustable width.

= 1.2.0 =
* A plate behind the text on each image: coloured plate, frosted glass or edge to edge, with your own colour and opacity.

= 1.1.4 =
* Adding or removing a page under "Show it on the website" is saved straight away.
* Placements are rebuilt after an update and when the builder is opened.
* New function dt_slideshow_page_html() for themes that show other pages in sections.

= 1.1.3 =
* Placing a slideshow on the start page now works also when the start page has no content of its own. New target: the start page, whatever it shows.
* Themes can choose where placed slideshows appear with the actions dt_slideshow_before_content and dt_slideshow_after_content.

= 1.1.2 =
* Clearer message, shown on the page, when a slideshow cannot be found. Unsaved changes are kept and saved as a new slideshow.

= 1.1.1 =
* Fixed: the buttons on the settings page were invisible.

= 1.1.0 =
* Slideshow builder with live preview under Datoden → DT-slideshow.
* Text layers (heading, text, button) with position and animation, focal point and darkening per image.
* Eleven transitions, Ken Burns movement, four arrow styles, lines, dots, numbers or thumbnails, time bar, phone format and width.
* Place a slideshow on any page with one click.

= 1.0.0 =
* First version. Replaces Responsit Bildspel.
